The WTA Finals have had a nomadic existence since leaving Singapore in 2018, with short stints in various cities. This instability contrasts sharply with the ATP Finals, which has remained in Turin since 2021.
"It's a concern that such a historic event hasn't found a permanent home," Clijsters added. "Stability is key for the players and the fans."
Looking ahead, the question arises: Where should the WTA Finals be hosted in the future? Safety and accessibility for players and fans are paramount, ruling out certain regions for now.
"We need to think about countries that don't usually get the chance to host major tennis events," Clijsters suggested. "Countries like Kazakhstan, Poland, Brazil, India, or the Philippines could be great options, given their rising tennis stars and passionate fan bases."
